Telugu Christian Congregation was established in the Year 1971 by Apostle Dr.Livingston Gadde. This congregation is governed by Pastors, Council of Elders and Deacons. Elders and Deacons are appointed by the Pastors after much prayer.
Many thousands of Telugu speaking Christians are working in Kuwait in various capacities, who had no Christian fellowship until the starting of “Telugu Christian Congregation” in Kuwait . God has been blessing this congregation from 70 members to present weekly turnover of 2000 members in its various daily activities. On Friday being holiday about 4500 people attend in its various activities.
By the grace of God as well as by the untiring efforts of the pastors, elders, deacons and other active members, the church activities have grown and by the year 2026, church activities are taking place daily as given in the General Schedule.
Round the week, fasting prayers are done by few individual members from 6:00AM till 6:00PM while in their secular jobs and their homes. During Sunday worship service around 1900 people attend the church. We gather at the premises of “National Evangelical Church of Kuwait.
Rev.Dr.John Somaiah is a co-founder of Telugu Christian Congregation Kuwait who worked with Late Apostle Dr. Livingston Gadde, for the last 55 years, Founder member of Telugu Christian Congregation-Kuwait. He is also a Senior Pastor and Successor to Apostle Livingston as well as President of Telugu Kraisthava Vedantha Vidyalayam-Kuwait for the past quarter century.
He travelled to around 20 countries to participate in conferences and in few countries to minister the Word of God; He recieved around 30 certificates from different countries to this effect.
He was born again in 1957 while he was 9 years old at Chennai. He joined outreach street preaching every Sunday from 4 to 6 PM and on Saturdays from 6 to 8 PM along with young men of first church established by Late Bro.Bakht Singh who also conducted his marriage in 1970; God has blessed him with two sons, two daughters, 4 grand daughters and 5 grand sons who are living at Canada, USA and Australia.
From his childhood, after he was born again, he has been serving the Lord for 68 years.
While he was at 22 years, Late Bro. Bakht Singh taught him, at an youth camp, how to find God’s will (7 points), how to prove what he found is God’s will (7 points) and what are the conditions for finding God’s will (7 points)
He had an opportunity to go to Kuwait and he prayed for 1-1/2 years and God gave him a promise from Genesis 12 :1 to 3
